New Working Environment
Our current office is temporary. We are a new department and so are all cramped into an open plan office at the moment prior to a move to new offices in the summer.
This week a group of us went across to the new office space to have a look around and see what is coming.
I put my name down but was then, at the last moment, undecided about going. I had a lot of work on and it seemed a distraction from what I was doing (and also my routine?).
Anyway, I went and I think it was very beneficial. It didn't tell me much about my new environment because it was only in the early stages of being kitted out.
However, I have a mental picture of where I will be working which is helpful and, importantly, I have a feel for the location and what my journey to work will involve.
The latter is important. I have a long commute which can be stressful until I have settled into my routine. Knowing what will be required in a few months time will enable me to prepare mentally and adjust without affecting my working patterns.

New Environment Pending
I will be moving to my new offices in about six weeks after I get back from holiday.
I need to prepare myself mentally for the change. Its going to mean disruption to my routine and new surroundings.
I don't think that is a problem mind. As seen I have visited the office before so have an inkling of what to expect and it will also mean a slightly shorter journey to work in the morning.
I just need to put the final touches to my revised schedule such as identifying and planning the route I will walk on the final leg of the journey!
