Does anyone here actually have their own business?

Hi

I guess I'll be the brave one and put my posting in this forum.

I'm not an entrepreneur and don't have a desire to be one right now. I just what to know if there's any members who actually have their own business or store? It would be interesting to hear who has their own business and the experiences with it.

It was posted about four months ago now and outlines the success a person has had developing and running a real estate business.

Definitely worth a read.

Thanks for pointing out this particular case study for me. I have read some of them but not this one. Sounds like this person is doing well for themselves and has the support they needed. Real estate can be profitable as long as you know what you're doing.

Specific Approach

I think that this depends on: a) having a good knowledge of the market and; b) understanding your own position fully before entering into a market.

In the Case Study in question, I think that the person was very astute. He didn't over expose himself financially before committing himself and didn;t take on too much at first.

This meant that he mitigated the pressure which had the potential to cause anxiety which could have menat the business floundered before it had a chance to get going.

He also appreciated that he needed other skills which he didn't possess and couldn't provide. Consequently, he got a partner to do those things and concentrated on what he knew he could deliver.

He also ensured that he didn't take on clients who were potentially problematic and which he knew he didn't have the inter-perosnal skills to deal with effectively.

In other words, he recognised and acknowledged the strengths - and weaknesses - of his AS and built a structure around them.

The consequence is that he has succeeded by doing so - something which we are all capable of doing!
