Empathy as the Catalyst

I have been discussing my Transitions Project that I have formulated with Nottingham University with a number of commercial organisations over the last couple of weeks.

it has been most interesting.

The subject that seems to be coming up the most is empathy. Most of the people I have spoken to are fascinated by the fact that a lower propensity to empathise is the root cause of a great deal of difficulty with fellow co-workers.

This got me thinking quite a bit as I think that the conclusion was correct. Socialization, listening, corporate politics etc are all affected by ineffective empathasising. The ultimate difficulty of course, is manifested in strained inter-personal relationships.

I woiuld be interested to learn if others agree with this conclusion to the same degree?
