Instability

It’s been a while since I last blogged for which I am disappointed and apologize. It’s good to be back!

I’ve had a difficult week or two. The key reason is instability in my private life about some financial issues and decisions that I have had to make.

I find that when I am faced with uncertainty I: a) don’t tend to look beyond the – narrow – “here and now” and; b) I tend to get very stressed.

Being in this position – which I haven’t been for quite a while now – makes me appreciate how important it is for me as a person with Asperger – and as someone who operates at a relatively senior level – to avoid ultra stressful situations and to have a reasonably high degree of stability in my life.

I also have a tendency to “look back”. Again, this is counter productive, especially from a business or work perspective. My past experience also taught that it can be very damaging to ones’ career also. Change happens in the commercial world and, to a large degree, there isn’t much one can do about it!

I’m back on a more even-keel now which is good and can see things from a wider perspective. It was a useful reminder of the need when difficult periods appear to remain clam and remember that such times pass.
