Age & Learning

Would appreciate any thoughts anyone has on the following.

As a person advancing through my 40's I am finding in increasingly difficult to learn or memorise new material. I am sure that this is the case for everyone of course, but I am wondering what impact my AS is having on all of this?

I feel less comfortable about trying to learn new information and increasingly secure in operating in those [technical] areas where I have previous experience.

I, of course, have to learn new skills, material and ways of working. I'm looking for ways that will enable me to do so...

Age could be a possibility

I'm in my 30's and I'm starting to notice this too. For me it's not as easy as it use to be to pick up stuff, memorize things and even learn different things. When I was younger in college I could of done this pretty well. Even though my memory is still very good, I can relate with you on this one. I also notice other people around me (Non-AS folks) have this issue too. In my opinion I think it's age, probably (depending on the situation) not really caring deep down and stress. It could be a remote possibility that AS might play a factor in it for us.

I haven't really figured out any ideas on how to conquer this. The only thing I can say is try to learn things that are in real interest to you and are in real concern.
